What's Your Rarest Pattern?

I don't how rare is Blish, Mize & Silliman Hardware, but haven't seen a lot of them, I love the blade combination and the bone look

Very cool odd patterns guys! Here's an early Hammer Brand Cattleman that you would be hard pressed to find these days. While not a rare pattern, it is unusual to find a solid celluloid handled knife with etch still in tact and good snap on all blades. I haven't cleaned this knife at all! Odd thing is, it was never used, Basically NOS.

Singin, I'd say its quite reare to find a Hammer Brand Etching let alone one as nice as that... Super Cool

Thanks Gino, even thought there's some pitting on the clip blade, overall the rest is pretty clean.

Perry, that is one terrific knife! One of the knives I am posting might strike a cord with you...

Both these knives are in rough shape. I wish they were mint, because they are very neat patterns.

The first one is a Pribyl Bros. I love how the guitar strings were carved into the pearl. It's just too bad the pearl is all broken and it's missing a blade. The next one is an ivory fish knife by Southern & Richardson, Sheffield.

Yesterday, truetemper and I were conversing on the Imperial stock knife he had found with the long pull
swedged spey blade. I had recalled that you had an excellent example of what the Imperial spey blades
"normally" looked like. That's when I asked you for a pic of yours to show to Bob.

Today while researching the Imp. speys on the http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/ site, I noticed they
had added a 1936 Imperial salesman's catalog. Only a few pages in - there was the H 605 AC -- Spear!!
I simply clipped the image and sent it to you - not knowing if you had this information or not. That was it... plane
and simple!!!

How often you think that is going to happen!!

I could make-up a pretty accurate list of the pattern No.s for the old Imperials including the shell handled Jack-Master line
that ran all the way through the Imperial Schrade era, if I had permission to access and print-off the old catalogs.

Can anyone back me and give me a reference that I could submit to Larry for his consideration as to giving me the permission
to print the pages from the Imperial pdfs?? (hint, hint, hint, DALE!!)

I'd have to say the ones I see the least of are lobsters and wire jacks. Here's a W.R. Case & Sons goldstone, a Camillus Sword Brand cracked ice and a Remington R 7394 pearl lobster. Also throwing in a Geo. Schrade Knife Co. Inc wire (fish?) jack and a Case 6592 NKCA Decades 1982 stockman. I don't see many of these knives.

After much thought, I decided these two knives fit best in the rarest pattern thread: The Eiffel tower knife is made by G C (lots of research - no true information as of yet) and the Coir knife is handmade and I have no idea what it says on the blade, but it is very old and unusual.

Couple cool very unusual patterns there whatever they are.

The Coir knife is 4 inches long, the blade and the pick are both 1/4 inch thick at top - the blade is severely hollow ground and 2 3/4 inches long, the pick is 3 inches long. These knives were used by rug makers in India and Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) - based on its construction probably made late 1800's.

Joe, thanks so much for that link.....I think I can spend a good long while enjoying all the info on this website! I think it`s really cool and incredibly coincidental that you would run into that big spey blade so soon after we talked about it in wonder! Thanks for the info.....again! Love this place!

Both of those knives are very neat! It's a possiblility that your Eiffel Tower knife is a Gutmann Cutlery knife. Gutmann is an importer of German knives from 1947-present.

Thanks for the response. I actually think the knife was made by Goyon Chazeau in France. The blade and the frame are both marked DEPOSE (it means registered in France - older German products are often marked DEP also meaning registered). The blade style/shape is definitely french and still common today on many regional custom knives. I have not been able to find any detailed info, catalog or otherwise on this specific knife, and Goyon Chazeau current knives are mostly marked with a blade etch as opposed to a tang stamp. The fact that a lot of French history, knife and otherwise is written in French (and I neither read or write it) deters my fact finding significantly.
