My latest Schrade

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I haven't bought a Schrade in a couple of years but I do love them. Truly a piece of American history. Here is all of mine in one shot. Nothing special but thought I would share. The bottom one in the 1st pic says Craftsman on it and I think it was made by Schrade but please correct me if that is wrong.

Hi all,

I have several new items to add:

The first image is of 3OT and 5OT knives, several of which I find quite uncommon.

The second image is of two 18OT specials that were given to me at thanksgiving by my wife's father.

Enjoy!

Hey Dale, since we're talking bout the LB-8, do you happen to know how long Schrade produced them, from what year to what year I mean? I know it's no where close to the LB-7 and you don't see a lot of the LB-8's around.

I picked up these two Schrades on our trip to Choteua OK this week. We usually are shopping for Case knives. I couldn't pass these two new in the box knives up. From what I have seen in the forum these were put together by the company that bought the Schrade name with Schrade parts. They are both US made and I am happy with the purchase.

Those 2 knives are quite nice quality with very pretty bone. They were made by Bear & Son (Atlanta, Georgia?) for Stewart Taylor after Schrade closed their doors. I don't think there are any Schrade parts there but I could be wrong. You can spot the Bears because they only have the one pin in the middle. They made these two, a trapper, and a "razor" knife, all in the same style.
