he has a few primble knives listed, also some primble literature. so are they all fake? please expound.

Well, look at the jigging on the bone. I've never seen that style of jigging on an old American made knife. The Eureka style jack is one of the most commonly "reproduced" (faked) styles because it is such a collectible style and brings a premium over almost any other stye jack (the other one is a coke bottle with fancy bolsters). Look at the "fancy" bolsters on this knife, they actually manage to look cheap, even though an India Steel Works knife was a premium stamping. Look at that stamping, normally I wouldn't pay a whole lot of attention to the tang stamp because I've seen so many fakes with better tang stamps than the originals, but this one has the rounded ends that you only see on fake stamps, look closely at that stamp.

Aside from all of the above, the whole knife just doesn't have the look of a genuine old knife.

i agree with you msteele, it is just to new looking. also his others. but i still have to wonder since i am not an expert. but my gut feeling is to just stay away.

The jigging pattern looks much like the older german bone jigging and the bolsters look like modern china......hmmm.....very strange. I agree the stamp is fake and the knife looks to me to be a conglomerate. Hard to believe that someone would go to all the trouble to do somthing like this that is so obviously NOT original.

now that coffin jack. would that be considered an original reproduction. and not nessesarily a counterfiet, especially since the seller tells you it is a reproduction by blue grass?
it is probably queen made....although the price is thru the roof!!

msteel6, here's my eureka jack stamped Shapleigh Hardware Co.The other is stamped W. Bingham and both I got from Parker KCS in the early 90's. Paid $40 each and they wern't represented as vintage or old but at $40 each they wouldn"t be. I thought they might be from the Golden Age Classics series but have learned those were all stamped with Case family brands. They're well made and It's too bad they're being represented as vintage. Slim.

slim, those knives are classics in the sense that queen made most of the case classics, and more than likely made those two also.
