what i read here is that it is still genuine stag that is used in the brunt stag scales. . why don't you just list it as burnt genuine stag and remove all confusion.......? and subsequent truthful deception from sellers.

is this in response to my last post, because i should also have said this,,,,isn't every slab hand cut a fitted by hand to the knife? i was at the gec cyclops factory a few times, and that is the way it is done on all their slabs. even the bone. everything done by hand.

They have to cut the slabs from the rolls, but no matter what, they still have to be fitted to the knife be they genuine, burnt, second cut, etc. So the only extra process is to run the rolls through a band saw. To me stag is stag is stag, either it is or it isn't.

Fair question, I suppose. Consider gen stag has one less process than the others: installation of a shied. Have no idea, but it's reasonable to assume premium stag rolls cost more than rolls that are destined to become burnt stag.

Regardless, I'm sure all will agree, GEC is putting out the best stag in the business. Keep up the great work GEC.

i always thought you can hide a imperfection by burning or bring out some of the natural colors by burning it.

certainly, but i have also seen them as complete opposites.
also i like the shield better, but that is just prefferencial

Genuine stag comes to us in the roll form, then we have to cut the slabs, shape them to the knife, match up front to back. The burnt stag comes to us in slabs and has a lot less hands on processes to it which cuts the cost down. Stag rolls do cost more than then the slabs also and are harder to find with the dimensions that we need.

Hi all, this still makes me confused Natural stag vs White stag?
I know that Case made 3 white stag in 1970, the'33 the peanut
and the trapper. I have a 5233 which is for sure white stag, and
a peanut, which is not burnt, still looking for the trapper. So
what is the difference between white stag and natural stag?
