Hi Hillbillenigma;
Buy the way your right they are an enigma.
Im sure Olcutt will be posting soon and My post is not meant to hi jack his thread. However I thought you might enjoy this one. I think it is probably later rather than early, probably 30-40's maybe even 50's. The condition is not great. The tang stamp on knife and the basket weave on sheath are great. Looks to be modeled after marbles woodcraft pattern as many manfs. did.

This is my only Jean Case so it's a hundred percent so far. We will see what Olcutt comes up with or maybe someone else could chime in.

Thanks Jackie:
Nice knife. Seems rather strange that the posts so far have been of an only knife.
I think when you got that one everyone quit looking, why search when the best one is gone.

Re: JEAN CASE CUT CO.
Jean Case was evidently a budget brand used by Kinfolks, I don't know when they used it, but they seem to be very scarce. The knives all seem to be the same as Kinfolks knives except for the markings. The sheaths are usually plain. Steve
Re: JEAN CASE CUT CO.
That may be Jackies only Jean Case but ask him to see all the others he has

Yes, I am familiar with it, thanks for reminding me. I checked it and found new catalog material that is fantastic! If anyone would like to see some less-than-mint Jean Case knives that I have I will try to post some pics, I just found your instructions on another forum. Thanks! Steve

@olcut, do you know the name of the knife you have or the price that it goes for? I have the same exact knife, but know nothing about it. Thank you.

Re: JEAN CASE CUT CO.
About all I can tell you with any certitude at all is that Kinfolk's Inc sold knives under the name Jean Case and the Amber colored handle does hold a bit of value. As with other knives their value is depressed in current market. Yours does appear to be in okay condition.

Perfect, thanks! I appreciate the info.
Re: JEAN CASE CUT CO.
Just sharing. I see the post are a few years old. One of the knives my dad pick up in his travels up and down the east coast. Bit of s glare over the tang. But it is a Jean Case Cutlery CO.
Re: JEAN CASE CUT CO.
The Kinfolks book says that the Jean Case catalog consisted entirely of production blade overuns and seconds from the Case family companies. Blades were stamped with the Jean Case name - it was never really a manufacturer. I'm just stating what I read there. Is that accurate?
