Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Been tryin' to play catch up on this thread before jumpin' in and all I can say is WOW!! There are some really amazing knives posted here. I was soppin' up drool by the second page and had to go get a bucket by the tenth. Dumped it six times before gettin' to the end. Well done one and all!!
So, here's my first entry. It's a Queen built for SMKW MOP Toothpick. Info from SMKW is that it was built (by Queen) from left over parts after a 2-piece (Stag/Pearl) set were built around 1980. The sets were a total run of 250. No info on how many leftovers were built, but would guess fairly low numbers. The set knives had a blade etch.
Again, some beautiful knives here folks. Enjoyed seein' every one of 'em! WB

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
i picked up this case barlow this weekend...
mostly as a reminder of how many barlows i ruined in the same fashion as this one..
i believe it was used as a battery cleaner tool...was really nasty when i found it...
about an hour of gun cotton an...mother polish...and whine and bitch an moan...and what i have is a damaged, pitted, blackened case...
7 or 9 dot...damn little dots keep moving around.

This came in the mail today. weeks earlier than promised. Nice surprise.
Muskrat Man rehandle of a Queen Teardrop linerlock. FAT STAG.
It should age well and gain some color. Love the D2 steel. One day
we will all be able to say I knew him way back when he wasn't famous.

That is sweet!
I picked up at the PO a couple of jokes yesterday.
I'll try and come back in a little while with pics.
K. Here they be. The back of the blade rubs on the axis ball and feels rough as a cob. Some dremel polishing should help that. I don't think these have the heat treat to get really sharp.
REAL easy to get and remove a burr. Getting two was a mistake. But it was got as a proof of concept. And I can tell you now I'd never spend the coin for a real Spydy of this pattern:

So you dont like them?
If your having quality problems, they must be knockoffs.
How much did they cost?
My Spydercos are the only knife I dont sharpen, because there is no way I can get them as sharp as the factory. I think EVERY knife manufacturer out there can learn something from Spyderco. JMO.
Sorry to hear you dont like them, something dont make sense to me here.

These are indeed knock offs. China to the bone.
A real Spydy like that one is probably 150% of these. STILL don't want a real one.

Oh yeah, I knew. That is why two were a mistake.
It was cute enough that I had to try it. They get pretty sharp, but many SS and ALL CV knives would kick their butts!

Nice knife MyDogsHunt.
Here are three I received from Billswfl yesterday. I'm sorry my photos don't do these knives justice. The Hammer Brand NYK was a surprise gift. Thank you Bill!
