shipping to scotland

anyone have any info or tips on shipping a folding knife to scotland. i have never sold a knife before period, but there is a guy there who is interested in one of my old sheffields he saw that i bought a few months ago. he says that scotland ebay now will not allow the buying or selling of perfectly legal usa knives....
but we will do this outside of the nasty ebay dynasty.
so,,any tips on this would be appreciated. i will go to the post office also to inquire. thanks,,,,,,

Getting it out of the U.S. would not be a problem if you've done the paper work. I would think that Scotland would adhere to the same knife laws as Great Britain, so the problem would be getting it into Scotland.

i don't think that judging from his email to me, scotland is the the problem. i think it is scotland ebay that is barring buy/sell knives from usa. i do not know why. that is why a trip to the post office might be the best way to do this. i would rather keep the knife. but he is 69 yrs old and he had that same knife when he was 15.. i believe him because he is a user of ebay and has a good track record...

just don't send spring operated...
someone had a fit when i suggested i would send one as a present...

The rules of Scotland and England are different. You should be okay shipping into Scotland since it does not go through Mt.Pleasant Customs. Old folders are okay anyway.

even though this guy offered me more than 4 times what i paid, i still don't know if i want to part with it. his age and the sentiments behind his offer are the two things that might sway me.
but this knife is still mint and one of the strongest lockbacks i have ever held. made by lockwood brothers and they mean lock....and an alligator snap

i have decided to sell this knife to the person in scotland. i have never sold a knife before and i guess the quickest and maybe the safest way to do this transaction is if he paid thru paypal. would i use the same paypal id for payment recieved as i used to buy that knife?

Hey Chet. Yeppers, same account, but be advised of one thing, in addition to regular PP charges, they also charge you a currency conversion fee to convert from Br. Pounds?? to U.S. dollars

sorry dimitri, i just saw your question. this picture from ebay will answer it, and big barns also, since i do not take pictures of my own yet.. the seller says tampa, but it is pampa with the running ostrich on the blade

i don't think this knife is older than the eary 1950's. late 40's at most. but it unused.
