Enderes?

Won this rascal and can find very little except "1918"

Going strictly on brain cell recall here, but I think there were at least two companies that marked knives with "Enderes".

One was one of the big Mid-Western hardware chains like Shapleigh, maybe. They used it as a house brand for a lesser line of knives.

The other was a bonafide cutlery company, but I cannot recall their location. They produced a higher quality knife than the ones marketed by the hardware jobber.

I don't think it was Shapleigh. Simmons had a vise president named Enders. They used Enders as a second line to their Keen Kutters.

My book shows "Enderses", which isn't what you have but perhaps it is a misprint in the book - "Albert Lea, MN, c. 1918". I like that knife a lot. It always piques my interest to see these obscure and unknown tang stamps, things I have never seen even in the pages of AAPK. It's still a bit staggering to think of the thousands of small and large businesses that were part of the knife industry over the years.
