What kinda knife is this? age? manufacture? price? rareity?

The pattern was popularized by Kauffman in the K55 Mercator knives.They had a single piece of steel folded to make the handle and a large cat(panther?) stamped into one side.
Can't tell whether this has that type of handle or there are separate scales attached.Need better pictures.

I think that knife damifino80 posted is at least influenced by the Mercator if not made by them.
