Awesome stag on both those beauties, Monk!
GEC put out a few of the 72's in red elk stag, and they came out beautifully! This version has swedged blades and lined bolsters, unfortunately there was a problem in production that severly limited the output. If you can find one, buy it!!!

Look for them on Monday morning, but they were a very short run "factory test" so there aren't going to be a lot of them.biglmbass wrote:Looking good, Barry.![]()

Re: Brag On Yo Stag !
What happened to the rest? I only received three of the 50 red stag 72's produced. One sold immediately and I haven't decided the fate of the other two serial no. 15's. Did all of the red stags go to prefered customers? I haven't seen any listed.
Anybody find any?

Re: Brag On Yo Stag !
I saw a total of nine listed by two dist's combined if I remember correctly. Had an email
reply from a third that the one he recieved was long gone. With your three, thats only 13.
I am sure that CK probably had some, not sure how many. Been watching for them, but
this run has been elusive. I have a line on one maybe....................cant say where, LOL.

Re: Brag On Yo Stag !
That may be the last red elk stag we'll see from GEC. With all the problems they had, I understand they're reluctant to try another batch, but who knows?
They may work things out. Sure is pretty, though!
Hopefully they'll come through with another batch of regular elk or some other exotic handle material for the 72's ... maybe ram's horn or buffalo. Or, dare I wish it, RED BUFFALO!!!

Re: Brag On Yo Stag !
I am glad they stuck it out and produced what they could. I think these Red Elk knives are some
of the finest GEC's I have seen. Too bad they had probs with the process, but based on the time
it is taking them to sell, GEC would be crazy not to do a future run or two.
