White House

Post by 9ball »

I am looking for any catalogs or other information on WHITE HOUSE cutlery.......Knives, straight razors, etc.
1920's Hardware store brand from Nashville, Tennessee.

I have read they were made by Case, but have not seen many to compare.

Thanks,
9ball :)

From what I know of White House, only some of their knives were made on contract by Case. Im trying to get my hands on one too. The feller just dont want to let it go. Good luck in finding one.

Thanks ::tu:: .......what pattern is it? Is it Case or some other?

They must be very rare, cause I have only seen three items in my life time. Two razors and a barlow.

Every now and then a old catalog wll turn up on eRip, but you cannot make anything out from that. I got the store's name wrote down someplace, McWorter & ???????
No history, no nutin'

McWorter& Weaver I believe was the name of the hardware company who had the White House trademark. I have no idea how many patterns they had. I know the barlows were made by Case. I havent seen too many different patterns. The one im trying to get ahold of is kinda similiar to the Case 6216. Its a baldheaded jack with french ivory handles.

Sure would be nice if someone would come along with some history, and mabey even a knife to show us

:) .......Bump

Here is a shot of a display around 1924.
Some of the early knife books on collecting from the 70's have price guides for White House.
I have seen the Barlow and a couple of their straight razors, that is about it for me.

Maybe I will get a photo of a razor on here ::uc::

I haven't seen too many of these either. I think I still have a christmas tree peanut made by Case for them in the 20's or 30"s. I'll try to dig it up for a photo.
