two hours of labor

much pissing an moaning, sore elbow later...
hack saw is slow, but the horn didn't warp.
perhaps i cut the elk horn a bit thin?

( how cool is that you can enlarge the photo just by clicking on it?)

a fellow gave me a cheapo italian spring loaded to re-handle...
i did three sets of wood and he poo'd them all...ironwood, black walnut burl, mesquite...

so, the old fall back position...elk rack...
not worth the effort...but ::super_happy::

did i mention he has a triumph 650 in a basket...pre-unit with a bolt on hard tail... von dutch panels and pin-striping...
surface rusted rat bike...pure ol skool. ::tu::

we'll see orvet...i am hoping...he is going through some rough times an has to move this horde of iron...so...what's one little rat bike in a basket?

so..i am not telling how long it took to make these bolsters...and i am still not finished...carved them out of some puddled copper...
