Welcome!!

It is usually Cattle shin bone that is, in fact, dyed to achieve the various colors on handles or covers of knives. Sometimes other bone is used, like Water Buffalo...and sometimes it is jigged...or carved, and maybe torched, to look like Stag antler.

Sometimes it is left as is and develops a yellowish tone with age. :) s-k

Stag: This handle is achieved by fossilized deer droppings.
Autumn Bone: is achieved by laying it in the dirt during that season.
Cracked Ice: Will melt on hot days.
Ebony: Dried pig eyes that are crushed and pressed.
Red bone: Leg bones of cattle with blood stains.
Blue bone: not really sure but I think Smurfs have a hand in this.
Delrin: This is made from an actual human carcus Delrin R. Smithers

As long as you don't spill your drink on the keyboard or go on ebay, drinking and computers go together fine IMO. ::cr::

Here is another photo as requested by knowtracks. Hide your eyes 8) MM.

Thanks sunburst for the comment on the avatar. I really like that engraving of the old time grinder. The avatar is not very sharp though ::doh::
