On an average week I see about 200 different knives, the good, the bad, the ugly...and sometimes the FAKE.

I have been guilty of buying fakes, one in paticular was a stag handled John Primble. It was in awesome shape and the price was right! But I had a gut feeling about it, something was wrong. Turns out it was a phony.

This website is worth its "cyber weight" in gold to knife collectors. It can educate the best knife buyers. For the last few years I have not bought any fakes because Im better educated and put alot of time in. One thing is for sure, if you have any gut feeling that a knife is not ligit...its probably not.

Another way to feel out these fakes are to do the "flip test" Open the knife in question and gently hold it with two fingers. Then flip it like you would your sisters ear. If it feels like a tuning fork then its probably junk. Sometimes you can do this even with the blades closed.

Another thing, if you feel that the blade has been replaced, open it all the way and run your thumb across the backspring to the blade. It should feel like one solid piece of steel, no gaps. When a guy hands me a knife I feel it for a good minute or two before my eyes even see it. You can read the knife with your hands while your eyes are reading the seller.

Never second guess your gut instinct and you will be a better knife trader.

Yes this site helps teach new comers and use old collectors.
Know your seller, check him out. The knife is important too.
When you move up to the HIGH end of knives I fell that seller is the one that makes you or brakes you. One here I will trust is Knife Kid to buy Randolph knives. Many fakes even if you just bid on one on E-Bay will contact you. Look out for that too.

My best advice is cut your loss and move on. BUT do not for get it.
The SHARKS are out there. This is true in life not just in knife collecting.
Try buying stock and selling stock. It's a big body of water out there.

Some how GOD remembers all the things you do and did.
This helps me some times get through life.

I didn't snipe that knife, I put in my software to bid in the last 6 seconds, cause I never know when I'm going to be home.
