NOVELTY KNIFE COMPANY RIP OFFS!

Post by peterforce »

this is just sad.

if you look at the blown up shots you clearly see CHINA on the tang stamps of the open knives.

i wrote this seller 2 days before his auction was over about the "mistake" and was even nice in the email.
i even gave a great explanation of what the knives really were and all and told him he could use it to update his auction.i even said that it would be a good idea to advise his buyer.

he wrote back one line " opps see this is what happens when i get to busy."

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... TQ:US:1123

ebay has made it almost impossible to get in touch with the buyers of these items.you have to wait until feedback is actually posted by the buyer, then write them, then convince them your telling the truth with proof.i still however do get this done.

if i see positive feedback from this auction i will write him and include the emails where i wrote the buyer.

TRUST ME IF THIS WAS A USA SET HE WOULD HAVE FOUND THE TIME TO SAY SO! ::td::

While we're on the subject guys, how much would just one of those sell for if it were authentic? I might have something similar laying around.

Peter you are too kind ....

I just sent the following message to the seller :

"Sir,
As I can see by your pictures those knives have China stamped on them .... far from vintage and NOT worth 3 dollars each. You really need to refund the buyer's money ASAP.
Please respond before I contact Ebay about your counterfeit items ..... and I will if I do not hear from you within 2 days."

Let's see if he will respond ... I definitely will report the issue to Ebay.

the sad thing about this for me is that i was watching these knives with the intention of buying them until they hit the 50dollar price. i never noticed that tang stamp. this seller always had some very worthwhile knives for sale and i automatically assumed these were legit. i never did buy off him, at least i don't think i have.
just goes to show what assume reaslly means.

I black out the address on them and take them along with my extra Sgt. Grits catalogs down to the VA clinic and leave them on a table in the waiting room.

While the buyer probably has little recourse after giving a positive feedback I was able to send him a message advising him of the situation.

Maybe he can work something out now that he has some information. Heck, I had to zoom in on the pictures 7 x before I could read China on them.

While I disagree with the description that the seller used. That CHINA stamp was visible in the "enlarged view".

Peter saw the CHINA stamp as did all of us. IF a buyer is in such a hurry to part with his money without looking at all the details, then I think the buyer has a problem as well.

Had I been trying to sell that mess, I would have plainly stated that the knives were re-pops of CHINESE origin. I'm sure every one else here would have done the same.

Dean, I'm curious as to how the buyer responded to your message alerting them that they didn't buy vintage knives. Have you heard back from them?

I haven't hear a word from the buyer. I thought at least he / she would have written me an email and say thanks for the info ..... but not a word.
