My name is Don. I'm new here & to knife collecting but have carried American Steel since I was 7 year old. I have several old case knives, a early 70's Winchester, 1913 USA Boker, a few old Schrades, Bucks & Gerbers. I'm most interested in the old camp knives & congress patterns & love a good double edged fixed blade & damascus.
I've got 2 American made combat knives I carried in Desert Storm (Navy Seal issue knife & a Gerber Commando I, boot knife) AWESOME KNIVES! I'm now building a custom knife on a Damascus blank I got through Bear & Sons MFG. at their last open house a few days back.
I grew up outside Chicago & now have lived in Alabama for 2 years, a couple of miles from the old Parker Edwards factory (Bear & Sons knives, now). I'm an Air FDorce Vet & worked making steel for Bethleham Steel Corp for 10 years in NW Indiana.
I've had Combat Knife training through the US Air force & US Marine Corp. & just don't see how any red blooded American could not like knives!
I'm of Swedish decent & was wondering if there are any good Swedish Knife maker worth looking into? Any info would be GREATLY apprciated.
