These came in the mail yesterday. The first is bullet knife by Williamson Co. of Newark, NJ. It dates between 1876-1945. Williamson Co. was actually known for corkscrews, not knives. The other is a carving set by A. F. Bannister & Co. of Newark. It dates between 1884-1915. The handles are red crown stag.

dcgm4, never seen a bullet knife quite like that, pretty cool design. And that crown stag is gorgeous. ::drool::

JWS, gotta love those Schatt & Morgan knives especially with the keystone shields. ::tu::

Okay, T.J.'s right. I am still addicted. This came in Friday's mail. It looks much better in the hand than in the picture. I've seen it called English Jack and Coffin Jack but I believe the correct name (is there such a thing?) is Coke Bottle Jack. It's a 1987 #2921.

woseyjales, it's all your fault.

I won 10 lots by absentee bid at an auction a month ago. They finally arrived. All but one knife are better than expected. This was apparently the last bunch out of two years worth of lots spread out to auctions to disperse a collection of 2000 knives. Wish I'd thought to check the auctions sooner. ::dang::

Is there not a lot of competition in the knife world over there?

I only won half of what I bid on so there is a fair bit of competition. I stay away from the expensive stuff. I'm also an American collecting in England so my tastes are different. I don't buy many of the knives the serious English collectors go after. There isn't much competition for American made knives over here so after they've been imported and the collector dies it's easy pickings. There was still someone you beat me to death with their wallet to get the better Schatt and Morgan sets from the auction.

If I've got time I'll list what's there in a few days. I've got to work for the rest of the week. Any specific questions just PM me.

I almost talked myself out of this one because I already have a bunch of electrician's knives, I already have a Robeson, only buy more if it is a brand I don't have, etc, etc, etc. But then I figured, it looks pretty good, it's starting at just $9.99 and the shipping is reasonable. I ended up the only bidder, and so I have another Robeson to add to my collection of electrician's knives. In truth, this one is exceptionally clean, almost like new, and I'm very happy to have it.
