This pattern Robeson knife can be found on Ebay almost weekly and in near mint to mint condition complete with a nice blade etch on the master clip, a hook disgorger/scaler blade and a bail. They routinely sale for under $50.00

The subject knife definitely has issues, but as a user, eight bucks is still a bargain.

The handles on these knives are a multi-layered laminated wood and phenolic resin material that Robeson produced in a separate plant and called, "ShurWood".

I suppose it's very similar to PaccaWood.

Sarah and I have about a dozen Robeson kitchen knives that we have used daily for fifteen to twenty years. They sometimes spend the night in a sink of water. We don't put them in the dishwasher, though. Not a single one has ever separated, swollen or become loose from the knife.

It is a very serviceable handle material.

I often see it referred to as "rosewood" in Ebay auctions.
