Samco knife info?

Hello guys,
Just looking through some of my older stuff and found this one. It is a Samco. I have done a search for samco and found a picture that was close to this knife and know that samco is, sanders manufacyuring company from Tennesee. That's as much as I got.
It, I assume is a salesman knife. on the front is,
Charles S Peel
Wolverine Representative
On the back is,

6591 Blue Ridge Ave.
Harrisburg, PA.

Any info on Samco would be appreciated.

Hi Skip,

I don't know much about Samco, but it sure has peaked my interest... My last name is Sanders and some of my family came from Tennessee a couple generations ago. I looked them up in Bernard Levine's Guide to Knives and Their values. It states that they are in Nashville and are an advertising specialty firm. ... medium on the value scale. I hope maybe someone has more info to share. I'll look around and see what else I can find out about them.

That's pretty cool. Would that be neat or what? I forget where I found that. The original article was a magician's knives. They showed many different examples of these magician's knives from different makers. the knife pictured looked just like mine, three pins,short bolsters same color. Hope you can turn up more on this maker.
Did the guide give any indication on possible time frame?

It looks like SAMCO is still in business. It doesn't appear that they make knives anymore, but I don't know that for sure...???.

I found a letter for sale on the internet from SAMCO that was dated 1932.

Sanders' Knives: Another classic knife reference you might run across in any discussion on color changing knives is the Sanders' knives, by Jimmy Sanders. Most references I have seen on these knives rate them as the best! Since I have never touched a set, it is difficult for me to comment. Mike Rogers sent me the attached photo of a set almost 50 years old, and stated that these knives "were made for the trick and they are perfect." The large blade is stamped "SAMCO TENN" for Sanders' Manufacturing Company, Tennessee. The original set came with three knives, one with a removable bone handle so you could even have the handle disappear! In his book, "The Complete Mike Rogers", Mike states that the routine included with the knives "tended to be lengthy, but good". If I ever locate a set and have the budget for it, I'll update with my personal thoughts! (Photo courtesy Mike Rogers)
