I posted somewhere that this knife blade was 'off-center' and that it had a very thin
piece of stag near the lock. Just trying to show a view of it.

It's been my Yellowrose #53 non stop, but now that I've seen IM's pics, I think I'll add this on to the pocket. ::tu::

For the past week, I've been thinking a lot about the full subject line of this thread and wondering if I've entirely lost my marbles.

For about a month, I carried nothing but my Shrade 5OT lock back. Thin. Pockets easily. Sturdy lock up. Carbon blade. All goodness.

Then, for no apparent reason, at the end of last week, I started carrying my Ulster Camper knife again. I just love that knife.

Today, the Opinel #8 is back in my pocket instead. I have a love hate relationship with it. I hate the flimsiness of the lock and the blade is a bit too narrow for my liking but man, it's light and fits in the hand well.

All 3 of these knives sit in a bowl on the top of my fridge where I keep the day's extra change. It's becoming sort of a game, like the knives are puppies in a kennel, jumping up against the edge. "Pick me! Pick me!"

What's am I carrying right now? The Opinel jumped into my hand today.

What is my fav ED? That's become impossible to say. Sort of like picking a favorite food or bike or song or kid or...

Am I alone on this?

No, you are very far from alone. I did the same thing with my Buck 501 this month, I loved the knife, than I lost interest in EDCing it. So I went through about 8 knives in a week, trying to decide who would be next in line, well the Yellowrose is it for now. But, I can't help but feel "bad" for not sticking with a knife, one knife for all my chores. I've gone through so many knives it's not funny. It's a madness my friend, a disease I tell you. ::tear:: Well, I'd really like to buy another knife right now, it looks great for the pocket. ::dang::

I had had the Remington Jack in my left pocket for quite some time.

Today for no good reason my Case CV Canoe took it's place.

I also haven't had my SOG Twitch II clipped in right pocket in several days.

I think I like my camping or scout knife with no other marking but Prov. R.I. on the blade and pinned on red scales best.

Dave, you are not alone! I also do the same. As soon as I become comfortable with a knife I want something else. I myself find something that I dont like about my present edc and change. I might go right back to that knife in a day or so also. It doesnt make sense and i never used to do this but I do now. LOL

BD8B, you're not by yourself on that. I carry the same knife for years. The ones in the safe are for looking at, fondling and "having". ::shrug::

Mid day change up! Inspired by something I read, I worked on the kicks on the two smaller blades on a Case Medium Stockman CV with Amber Bone. Got the wharncliffe down a bit so it's more comfortable to use.

It'll be in pocket for probably the rest of the day!

I got out a box of my EDCs the other day to oil and sharpen them (if they needed it).
I also oiled and sharpened several of my shop knives, knives I usually don’t carry, but are on my workbench ready to go to work at a moments notice.

I thought I would share a couple pics of them.

Yes it is Phil!
I feel bad using and carrying a numbered knife, but I bought it for a user, it just happened to be one of the early numbered ones.
I will tell you what; the D-2 steel in that knife don’t take a back seat to any other knife in sharpness and edge retention. It is one of my favorite cutters! ::nod::
