Dimitri, did not know there were a bunch of them, yours look great. i have the first one you posted from 1996 or 1997

Those Norman Rockwell commerative scout knives appear with some regularity on ebay. I'm not sure but I think there were maybe 6 to 8 knives produced for that set, each released in a different year and each showing a different scouting scene and with a slightly different theme. I have avoided buying them to this point. They usually bring 80 to 100 bucks each in mint condition.

Here's a picture of five of them that recently sold on ebay for a total of $400. I think there are a few more in the series.

Ok, I posted a picture of a Boy Scout leather belt and buckle above from New Zealand. In Canada,England and other countries they also have "Guides" instead of what we call "Scouts", same thing really.

This is another Scout knife, belt, and whistle outfit for the girl Guides of Canada. It has the original whistle, and folding pocket knife. The knife is a rope knife with a marlin spike

Now I ain`t no "Girl", but this thing is a nail buster even for me to open

The snap closed will take a finger off

No wonder it is in unused condition the poor little Canadian girl could not even get the thing to open. Besides what would she need a marlin spike for anyway

The knife is unmarked as to the maker, it is chrome or nickle plated,the blade, even the back spring. The whistle and belt have been used and have some wear and scratches from use. I have had the "Guide knives before, all of them were the same pattern weather they were for girls or boys, I have noticed that the early ones had nickle silver handles and bail with carbon polished blades, nothing plated.

I also have some of the patches and other accessories that came with the belt.

A few new ones. Phil sent me a Cub Scout knife as a gift and I liked it so much I bought a few more. From the top, the Imperial from Phil, a Camillus and an early 50s Camillus. They are really nice knives. Solid, perfect size, strong snap on all blades and the screwdriver comes in handy. I've been carrying one of them every day.

Pre 1941 Ulster with bone scales and an Ideal I bought at the flea market today for $5. It was rusted shut and I bought it as a project to see what I could do with it. I don't think it was ever used but laid in water somewhere for awhile.

Mike I tried to warn you how addictive those scouts are.

That rescued Ulster looks great. Love those bone handles. Nice save.

Thanks Phil and JR. I hate to think how many I passed up over the years. There was a guy at the knife show in February with two tables full of them.

Do you have any Cub Scout knives JR? They make a great EDC.

Yes Sir.....I have been noticing an increase on any bone handled Scout knife....even if they were made in Japan.

Gotten very popular over the last several years.

....I bought 4 yesterday on fleabay...a Bear & Son,Kutmaster,USA Boker and one marked only "made in USA".

I just bought an Ulster Scout Knife on eBay for $21 including shipping, tax and license. It's possibly bone but I won't be surprised if it's delrin. Seller didn't say and for me, sometimes it's hard to tell, even from fairly good pictures. I'll let you know when it gets here.

Jerry...If its not in the description,I always ask...cause if its not mentioned,9 times out of 10 ..its delrin or some other man made composite.

But for $21 including shipping.....you got a smoking deal either way..IMO.

Mail just came and so did the knife. It is Delrin but after looking at the picture again I remember thinking it wasn't bone. Knife is all shiny and unused. It's not perfect but it doesn't appear to have been carried and it still has the factory grind on the blade. The only negative is some corrosion on the face of the blade has been cleaned off and now the Boy Scout etch is faint. I don't care. Good solid knife for a good price.

Jerry welcome to the jamboree. Sharpen the blade up good and put that Ulster in your pocket. You'll have a great EDC at a super price.

Not so long ago those Ulster's could be found in every flea market in the county...now I doubt you could find one...

This is the latest addition to my scout family and my first Challenge...honest old knife, I like that they stamped all the blades...
