1988 Case Boot Hunter
Finally got this little beauty home, didn't even know Case made a boot knife. Pretty sweet dark (maybe walnut?) handles, stainless steel 4 1/2" blade and bolsters, hollow ground on both edges. Comes boxed with a black leather basket-weave sheath that has a nice metal clip on the back. Well made and I think it was a good find.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Very nice!
I believe that the handle material is pakawood (whatever that is) and that the P in the model number indicates such.

Nice knife Rider. I've been thinking about a boot knife too, really like the over-all shape of the knife. Are both edges finished?

Don't the two dots signify 1988 ?

Nice boot knife! I have one(used to have two but gave one to my brother)that had custom pewter handles with a scene by Shaw-Leibowitz that was silver plated. There were supposed to be examples from the 4 branches of the service but funding problems dictated that only the Marine version was made.Supposedly there were to be 750 of each(both of mine had serial #'s in the high 600's). I think it was around 1981 and the knives were $150 each which included a hardwood display case.I bought them at a flea market for $25 each.
Here is a not so good picture of one.

I'll buy that, Phil. I thought it looked a little dark for Pakkawood but the "P" makes sense.
That's what I think too.wishful wrote:Don't the two dots signify 1988 ?
