There were some recent posts about Camillus 72's, the little carpenter's whittler (frankly it looks like a stockman to me) and it really tripped my trigger. Found a brand new one on eBay and snapped it up at what I think was a decent price. She came today and she's a beauty. Delrin (or some synthetic) handles but I'm not fussin'.

My Mother gave me one just like yours for Christmas several years ago. She has been gone
now 21 years. Everytime I see a 72 it reminds me of that Christmas and mom. Nice
knife Jerry.

Love those 72 patterns. Some of them have a saber grind on the mark side of the master blade. Great knife in my opinion. I have one in my edc assortment.

Thanks for the kind words. That little 72 is also very sharp, right out of the box.

vieu101 - I'm liking that one in the bottom picture (Norfolk? Is that a tang stamp or pattern?).

A couple of previous neighbors and I took a little burger run down south of town on our scooters today. They're both bikers and old Marines (though not as old as me 8) ). Look what was in the mailbox when I got back. Camillus #33 EZ Open. Mmm Mmm good. What do you think? '70s - '80s??? Love the long pull and little swedge on the main blade. Half stops, black delrin handles, then a little oil on the joints gave her a nice snap. I've already stabbed myself in the finger with the pen blade. It's going to be a good'en.

Before any cleaning.

Thanks gents. '40s & '50s you say JohnnyR? The blades are nice and full. I think the pen blade has the factory edge on it. Had it not been rusty you could almost pass it off for NOS.

Oh, I misunderstood. You were saying 1946-1950. That's even better. It's really in very good condition for having come from that time period. Well worth $7.99 with free shipping. Thanks JohnnyR. I appreciate the information.
