I recently was fortunate enough to pick up a custom made fixed blade from AAPK member JFK96a also known as Jason Fry. Jason is a custom knife maker from Abiline, Texas. He also hangs out with us in the chat room on occasion, so I've had the opportunity to see photos of several of his creations. I had lusted for this knife when I first saw it, but he told me it was already sold. Turns out the buyer went AWOL on Jason so I got a shot at it after all. I didn't hesitate.
The blade steel for this knife came from the leaf spring of a 1958 Ford pickup truck. Being a Ford man, I couldn't pass it up.

The handles are cocobolo wood. Jason added the lanyard hole at my request. The blade measures 3 7/8 in. long and is 3/16 in. thick. The overall length of the knife is 8 1/4 in. The handles have a gentle swell in the middle that makes it fit perfectly in hand. Pictures can't tell you what holding it does. It is balanced and feels like the perfect size for my medium sized hands. It came with the sheath shown which Jason also made. He had originally made a horizontal carry sheath but made this one at my request, then included both when he shipped me the knife.
I am greatly impressed with the quality of Jasons work and I'd encourage anyone who wants a high quality custom fixed blade to consider Jason Fry. The boy's got skills!
