PAT NO. 2297855? Utica Cutlery?
No name on the tang....just Patent No. 2297855
Can anybody date this and offer manufacturer? I did Google the patent number and it was registered to Utica Cutlery in the 1940's.

I think you found the manufacture & Pat date will be real close. As long as the pat was for something to do with the knife?

Using the Google Patent Search, there should be an option to view the patent's written description and drawings.

Re: PAT NO. 2297855? Utica Cutlery?
So I found a knife that has this same patent number but looks a little different . Quite different in fact . It is a equal end cigar 3 3/8" closed with marbled delrin covers . The blades are identical to the ones shown in this thread down to the recurve in the clip blade . Mine only says (Patent NO. 2 ,297,855 U.S.A. )
Are you all pretty confident it is a Utica ? And if the original author of this thread doesn't mind me asking . Do you know a value ? For information sake only as I will not be selling this knife . Just for the display and my records .

I just looked up the patent #2297855. It dates from October 9, 1940. Patent deals with "bolstered handled cutlery", list lawyers names that represented Utica. Long description describing the merits of the patent.
