The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

No problem HiPower I am just fortunate to have material on Kabars and try to help others with their questions as my handle says I am new to knives, but they are a great collectable knife with many variations of materials and style. Thanks for sharing photo's
thanks for looking guys, the dog hair is usually present with knives since 3 potlickers also reside with myself. if it was'nt for responders how would we ever learn about some of these more esoteric products.---HiPower
Nice knife Highpower--Those Ka-Bar collecters didn't last long did they? I had one that was a Big Dady Barlow with maple scales that was made beutifully made knife.
Really like the bear scene on those handles.

No Problem Justold52 as I enjoy sharing photo's history etc... with one and all just finished the CK Yearly knives take a look you should like, next the collectors club knives as you probably know there is alot so may take some time but I will get er done Thanks for looking and hope all enjoy.

way to go nut0 i really wish i had been tuned in to ka-bar at that period. it was all about eye brand for me in that period & i suffered from tunnel vison. thanks for showing those beauties.--HiPower
