Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
i was at the queen knife show 2 weeks ago, which had a queen factory tour on that thursday. i did the tour, and of course was very involved with all the workers and their jobs. anyways, i asked the guy who did the buffing that day,, name escapes me for the moment, i think russ or ross.. hes been there for 41 years.. we had a good chat,,,,, if he would buff my edc, which was not a queen at the time{ shame on me}, but a gec 73 stag 2 blade, the 1095 steel was all rusted looking from being in my pocket so much.. well, he did a very fine job, so good it took the acid etch of 1 0f 50 off the main blade, i didnt care, its my edc, but it looked brand new for a well used 2009 knife.
the next day found me across town at the gec factory, i told them about the buffing and how it got rid of the blade etch. they said i could leave it with them and when they get set up with that etching design, they would do it for me, sid it would be about a month. today i got it in the mail, fedex. they paid delievery. it is like brand spanking new now. no scratches or patina rust marks and a new blade etch.. i dont know if i want to use it now.... but i probably will, sharp as a razor, they did all the fine tuning, cleaning sharpening and oiling...
love those 2 companies

Awesome story Chet!
Thanks for sharing.
Most of the US knife companies I have dealt with are just super with there customer service.
I have had dealings recently with Buck -awesome customer service!
Also with Kershaw, Boker and Gerber; they all have EXCELLENT customer service.
I am glad to hear GEC and Queen are as good as the others!

I didn't think I would like to carry this knife but it has really grown on me. Best RED bone next to an old Case. I don't think there is such a thing as a knife you don't need.biglmbass wrote:Nice one. I've been giving serious thought to that same one for quite some time. An admirable position my man! I agree completely that there is no such thing as a knife I don't need.

This Robeson is fun to carry, because it is a great knife, and the back spring so heavy that a person has to exert extra force to open in. I have one thumb that will not open it right now!!

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Howdy!
My EDC has pretty much resolved itself to a Kershaw 1660 for a larger locking edge, plus one of these two pocket beauties. I think they are the perfect size for a pocket slippie. Since I can't choose a favorite, I alternate.
Regards,
Russell

Not my favorite, but a nice small (maybe a little too small) pocket carry. A CRKT Van Hoy Snap Lock (2005 SHOT Show edition) - a little gimickie but has an excellent edge that will open anything I need opening. Not to mention it seems to be SHEEPLE friendly because of the design.
