Specialty Tools

Post by just bob »

When I look at these posts and tutorials I see some clever home made devices that have been made to faciliate the repair of knives. I noticed a wood lined device that fits inside a vice in one post that looked very helpful. When you are putting a knife back together and inserting the final, rocker pin I have read a mention of something that is used to compress the back spring so the pin can be inserted with ease. What kind of clamp do you use to hold a knife down while you spin the pins? Why don't you guys that are expert at this share some of the tools you have devised and help us beginners out? I would appreciate the information.

Good idea Bob.
Here is the tutorial I posted on the Camillus knife vise, the device that compresses springs while you assemble or disassemble a knife:

I am sure others will post their homemade tools.
