Pearly Garage Sale
I'm somewhat new to collecting, my father left me his collection a few years ago, mainly Case knives. I picked these up the other day for $5.00 each. The top one is a Koester, next is an American Sheffiel and the bottom 2 are a 1XL Wostenhorn. I can' find any marks like case knives to help me find out much about them. I thought the leather cases were kind of unique. Did they come with the knives? I read that it is best not to store pearl in the dark?????? Any info about these knives and cases would be great.

Re: Pearly Garage Sale
WEll, if you got all those for five bucks a piece, You did good.
The second one looks like an AMERICAN SHEAR AND KNIFE CO
The IXL's are very collectible. but yours have been beat up a bit. They're still worth what you gave for them. They were sold with with the little purses.
I don't know about storing pearl in the dark. AS those knives are most likely 70-90 years old, looks like they've done OK.
Leather can cause the blades to stain, but again, from what I can see, those knives are OK. Put a coat of light oil on the blades and enjoy them.
AS for your Case knives? Post some good pictures of the knives and the tang stamps and the gents here can tell you what you've got.
Welcome to AAPK. Pull up a chair and have some fun.
