Latest Pick Up from Ebay

Post by tjmurphy »

Pal Blade Co. Camper/Utility along with, as yet, an unidentified folder. The picture sucks but will post better pics when knife is in hand. One small crack at center pin that you can see in pic. Don't know about walk and talk yet. Aside from one small crack, the bone handles looky nize to me. If anyone can place a date to the Pal I'd sure appreciate it. Looks like two-piece can opener?

That one is easy to date 1940-45.

The knife shown is definitely WW II era production, the two piece can opener was used extensively by Remington on their scout/utility knives, seeing Pal bought out all of Remington`s stock they used it all up on their knives. Sometimes you may find a Remington marked can opener on a Pal marked knife.

Looks like a keeper Tom ::nod:: ::tu::

Thanks Dimitri - If the blades snap as good as they look, I'll be a happy camper. And the price sure was right, $13 + ship.

Falah and Philco - thanks a lot. Yes I do like those old knives with the old timey bone handles. There's some nice bone on the modern knives but to me they just look so sterile, if you know what I mean.

Where the heck am I when a beauty like that goes for $13? For that price, I'd give the hair on my chest (both of 'em) to get my hands on one like that. Congrats T.J. Ya done good lad.

Well if it's got walk and talk I'll be a happy camper, if not, I'll be a semi-happy camper. Keep your fingers crossed.

If it doesn't walk and talk to your satisfaction, maybe a little lubrication will resolve the issue. ::nod:: And if that doesn't work, send it to me. I'm not fussy. 8)

The knife is in hand. Sorry Jerry, with a drop of oil for each blade we have snap. One little correction to make - not really a two piece can opener, and, no Remington stamp. I'm a happy camper for the price.
