Show your GEC forced patinas

How about showing your forced patina on your GEC knives.Tell your method of doing it.Just received my new Northfield Western Trapper and want to put a forced patina on it.Thanks

[/img]i used white vinegar on these 2 gecs. musk is horsecut walnut bone & the pioneer is bubinga. the musk has one blade factory & the other forced patina. sometimes you have to rinse & dry blades & then add more vinegar.---HiPower

Cold blue applied and oiled with a polished edge. This finish will wear very quickly to a more natural looking patina. I haven't had much luck with the vinegar method, guess I'll have to try it again.

I you can get your hands on a pomegranate you will get a dark to black patina with just one slice. Fould it out the hard way this past winter, luckily it was a junk knife.

No pic right now, but the 73 I did it to came out just like Hipower's.

I used distilled white vinegar, for about 45 minutes or so.

Here's before and after pictures of my EDC #25 with a four hour apple cider vinegar bath. I take her out of bath about every hour,dry off and back in the bath she goes. After I like what I see I polish up the front bolster and that's it.

i like the vigegar since its cheap & usually always in the pantry. i did'nt polish my bolster as needed since i'm lazy & these gecs are for the boonies.--HiPower

That cold blue finish wears very quickly to a more mellow patina.
