FRJ, lots of life in that beauty, thanks for the pics.
I really like that one, it looks like a good one to have in the pocket, really beautiful bone.
Gino, great Remington my friend, I'm sure it won't let you down anytime soon.

I love a lock back, thats why GEC's #72 is perfect for me, I have one in my back pocket right now.
I've seen some Remington knives for sale before, but I never got to hold one in hand, that will have to change because that one sure looks good.

The knife I access most has to be clipped on my pocket.....don't know why, just has to be,...
Right now this BUCK 327-T clip hangs over the lip of my pocket. Sharp. Slender. EZ open....

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I'm a newbie here. No pics to share, sorry.
I dig this thread and love the pictures but would love to hear more about the why's that make people choose one EDC over another.
Today, I'm carrying an older Opinel #8. When I got it, the handle's varnish had long since been worn down and it was pretty nasty looking. Sanded it down to bare wood and put on several coats of Tung Oil. The result is a softer sheen and a great feel in the hand no matter what. Much nicer than the harder slippery lacquer (or whatever it was) on it originally.
One nice thing about the Opinel (even more so with the softer looking handle) is that it doesn't scare people. So it comes out in social settings when a knife is needed without people thinking I'm getting all tactical on them. Not a criticism of tactical type folders in anyway. Just sayin' that I really notice a big (irrational, but big just the same) difference to how people respond to different knives.
The Opinel is also crazy light. It's really the knife that allowed me to get back into EDC usage. It disappears into my pocket and is still big enough to be useful.
About 1 day in 4 or 5 (but not today) the Opinel gets replaced by an Ulster 4 blade camper. I love these knives!! I hated scouting but still love that style of knife. Nobody gets bothered by them either, at least not much.
My smaller Camillus stockman (gift) almost never gets carried. Just too small for my hands. Feels like a toy, not a knife to me. And my oldest knife, a Buck 110, never gets carried unless I'm hunting. Thing weighs about 10 stinkin' pounds. Nice knife and all, but belt carry isn't going to happen for me as an EDC and that thing is just way too much for me to pocket.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Paul, Gino and others,
Thanks for the warm welcome. Been looking around in other forums and my sense is that is a notably friendly and welcoming group. When I see this in a group, I attribute it to the culture of it's core members. I don't know y'all (yet), but outsider looking in, somebody's been doing something right here.
This forum and this thread specifically might link up to my eBay/PayPal accounts in ways that will be detrimental to my otherwise wonderful matrimonial bliss though. Might dig into my old bike collecting too. I'm sure I'm absolutely alone with this problem though.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I am carrying my first ever Opinel which was delivered two days ago. Was a bit surprised to discover that the posts previous to this one were about Opinel. I acquired the #8. I ordered the Bubinga wood handle rather than the Beechwood; don't know that it makes any practical difference. I just prefer the darker coloring.
Initially blade opening was stiff. A few drops of light oil and working the blade a couple of times eliminated that. The lock up of the blade is tight and secure. Even without engaging the lock there is no vertical or horizontal play to the blade.
The Sandvik steel does a fine job of separating any matter I introduce it too. And the knife came with a simple but handsome pocket sheath. All in all a fine value. I think my next Opinel will be one of the slim blades.

Tim, those Leeks are hot stuff. I only have one and it's a struggle to keep from buying several in different colors.

You cranked up my fever again so I had gone over and checked eBay. Depending on the model, it seems they're still going for around $30. Some a little less, some a little more. (I'm talking about the non-rainbow and unembellished ones.)
