Hey Gary - Go to the page you want to link, left click on the address bar at top of page to highlight it, right click on it and a drop down menu will appear, left click on "copy". Go to where you want to post the link (in this case click reply to thread) place the cursor where you want the link to appear, right click and another drop down will appear, left click paste and you're done. Thanks Murph, You probably don't realise it but I'm a busted a**e ringer ( cowboy ) cum truck driver.
I've written your instructions down but I guarantee something will go wrong twixt the thumb and the thread.
But I do appreciate your help.
This new electronic age doesn't suit me. What's wrong with just writing a letter.
Believe it or not, I have a mate way up in the gulf country that I write to once a year and always get a letter
back telling me all the news from his neck of the woods.

Sorry 'bout that. I'm not a Schrade expert, or any expert for that matter, but I guess the knife looks right to me, though certainly not from 1917. Would someone want to counterfeit a Schrade knife with Delrin handles? Don't think so. Don't really understand a 71-year commermorative. Orvet and/or OzzieMarie will chime in and give you the low-down on the knife. They're the Schrade experts. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I've never seen that tang stamp...is it a current Taylor knife? Seller alludes to it looking just like some Schrade Walden knife Parker made in '76? I didn't know Schrade lent out it's markings to other concerns...I'm confused.

Looks a lot like a Schrade Heritage series knife with those brass colored bolsters. The seller is confusing the issue with his "71 year" talk, that is just how old Cody was when he died in 1917. I'm guessing this was one of some sort of Bicentennial commemorative from the mid 1970s, seems like all the makers were doing that around then. My book lists a Parker Frost "Custer's last Fight" knife made by Schrade, so it's not out of the question that the knife was some sort of Parker production.

The top knife is the one in question and below it is my Schrade Heritage.

This is a Schrade stamp. Schrade did make a bunch of knives for Parker-Frost in the late 70's but this is not one of them. They also used this same stamp on several other commemoratives like the Minute Man, Paul Revere and the Liberty Bell. Several of the Schade made Parker Frost knives had this stamp but it was on the back tang of the main blade with Parker Frost on the front.
