Would like to know more about this knife. Help please!
I was given this knife a while back and i know nothing about it. All i know is that it is a Delta Five Combat Series design by Shane Sloan. I have looked on google with any keywords i can think of to find it but i cant find anything! Can anyone tell me anything about it or where i can find information about it??

Is it a custom neck knife? Looks pretty cool but I know nothing about the maker. Any way you can post some close-ups of the blade etchings front and back?
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Welcome aboard. Salute the ensign , salute the officer of the day, then get below and stow your gear.
I'm about 99% sure that's an MTech model. Part of the Tsunami of knives coming across the Pacific. Look it over closely. Does it say MTech? Does it say China? If you find those etched on the knife anywhere, there will be no history for it. Shane Sloan may be a pseudonym for Wun Hung Lo.

The only things the knife says is master cutlery, design by shane sloan and 440 stainless. And the only thing the sheath says is delta five combat series.

according to their website, master cutlery is the number one manufacturer of the official RAMBO movie knives and ninja throwing stars - if that tells you anything.
I can't find that particular model, but if you go to Smoky Mountain Knifeworks' site and search for all Master Cutlery knives, you find find a lot of cheap knives being sold at about $6 each...
sorry.

I can tell you a little bit about Shane Sloan. He used to live near Newcastle, TX. No idea if he still lives around there or not. He used to do some really awesome hand made knives back in the 80's and 90's.
I haven't seen or talked to him since about '88.
From what I've seen, he's having knives made with his name on them nowadays or somebody is using his name and rep which I really doubt.
As for that knife? I'd be pretty reluctant to think about using that thing in any type of combat environment.

I agree with Willie, especially of it is 440.
The only 440 I would trust is that heat treated by Paul Bos, the guy who does Buck’s heat treating.
