Unknown knife maker/seller

Post by mgottlob »

In the late 70's or early 80's I bought several pocket knives (online or through a knife magazine?) from a seller whose logo was "red stag" with the outline of a stag in red. The knives were good quality, each numbered, each with the red stag logo on a small medallion embedded in the knife handle. They came in a green box with the same logo and name in red. I didn't keep the invoice or any other information. Can anyone give me more information on these knives? Thanks, MG

Red Stag was a Solingen import. I have had some of their knives and the are good quality that I would rank just as good as Boker , Hen & Rooster or some of your other run of the mill Solingen makers from this era.

They first produced knives in 1983 and may still distribute today but not very much.

They were imported throught Goodwin Enterprises in Chattanooga Tn.

I have one of the Soligen Red Stags, small 3 blade whittler, about the size of a Case 6308. Seems to be a well made knife. Also I seem to recall some inexpensive Red Stag knives a few years ago made in Pakistan.
