For what's it's worth, I have one Red Bone Jack from the Maysville production run,and got to examine about a dozen Green & Red Bone knives when I bought it....the quality was some of the worst I have ever seen on an American made slipjoint.

I have a 3-5/8'' two blade regular jack. Jigged bone scales. Both blades stamped "John Primbe India Steel Works." The back of the master is stamped with the number 5057. Does that tip anyone off as to which company could have made this knife?

The only Maysvill stamped Primbles that I ever saw were knives made by Colonial and this was in the mid 80's.

I have an old Primble Barlow that I think was made by Schrade. It has at some point in time seen some rough treatment, but is still a solid knife.

I recently purchased one of the Blue Grass Cutlery Primbles. It is a Hawbaker Muskrat with the Manchester OH tang stamp. I bought it for a user as I really like the pattern. After a couple weeks of light use the long sheepfoot blade began to have a bit of side to side wobble. It tightened up OK in my press, but I was just a bit put off by that. Perhaps it wasn't tight when I got it, as I didn't check for that.

I have some what of a collection of primbles, india steel all the way to manchester and the qaulity has gone down hill as some of your manchester are made in china check blades close i bought some off ebay and got this JUNK! Nothing like the old ones.
