Re: Knives Made Before The Year 1960
I've posted these knives elseware, but why not here as well as they fit the theme. Thanks.
A Challenge cutlery, and a Hatch.
Actually, they are in reverse order. Goins says Hatch built a new plant in 1891 and employed 125 workers and produced 175 dozen pocket knives A DAY. They were sold in 1899 to Challenge Cutlery Co.

Re: Knives Made Before The Year 1960
Here's a knife I just enjoy getting out on occasion, just to hold, open the blades, close the blades again, simply because the quality can be felt just by holding it. It's a Keen Kutter cattlemans knife. It's tang stamp is the keystone like with E.C. Simmons, over Keen Kutter, over St. Louis. It's just a nice knife in every respect, it seems. Very strong snap in the blades, and if your not careful, a couple of the blades will reek havoc with your thumbnail. All the knives shown on this board are excellent looking knives and I have enjoyed looking thru them all.

Probably turn of the century - - Grandad's Marble's Safety folder. Wouldn't take a mint for this relic of my family history. Grandad died in 1939 when I was just a tyke. The only thing I have done is hand stitch up the old original leather case and occasionally use some 1000 grit to shine the blade and fold-in guard.
