What Is Your "Holy Grail" Knife

I asked Buster Warenski in 1972 if he would build me a folder. His comment cannot be used in public, but the answer resembled ... Not a chance. In 1994 he walked into my office and said here is your @#$%^& folder. I will post a photo here when I get home today. Since he passed on. I have been able to get a few more of his rigid blades and cherish them, as there will be no more.

Ok, mine is a Bulldog Stockman, BKC#49, 1st Bulldog produced. Has the Winchester tang stamp and Pit Bulls Terrier etch, bone handles. This knife is in the books but I have never seen one and am not even sure that one exists. I have fished unsuccessfully for years to no avail.

Ive never seen that one either. I have had the smaller version BKC50A. Thats the only one Ive seen with the winchester stamp.

Im still new to this so not got a grail of such yet, but since the early 80's ive always wanted a lile #1 rambo knife, and i love randals, pocket knife wise i would love a case 4 blade congress in bone, a buckmaster is on my list as well and a stag handled 110 but im sure i will have a real grail soon

dad had one of these blue... sold it on the bay about 7 years ago for 2,800... we had no idea how much it was worth or what it was, and a $125 reserve!

just a quick comment, that Stag handled CASE. I know where one is at an antique store. He is asking like $2000 or so for it. But the store has a 20% of sale on regular occassions. I have considered it many times, but never pulled the trigger. If that is something someone is interested in, I can let you know privately where it can be bought.

I'm not a collector, just an accumulator, so I don't really have a Holy Grail Knife. I'd had a yen for a Puma White Hunter since the late '50s and finally got one a few years ago so that was one itch scratched.

One of the guys in our hooch in VN had a Randall Mod. 1-7 which gave me the wannas. I could never afford one so I did the next best thing and bought a used Blackjack 1-7.

There are several folders out there that would cross my doorstep if money were no object.

Well, you better hurry Blue. The Model 1-7 whether it be one of the new Classics or an Effingham knife will set you back right at $200 and up. It doesn't seem like it's been that long since they could be had for just over $100. My how time flies. They're a darned good knife. In my opinion, (Dare I say it?) as good as a Randall.

I already had a Randall Mod. 8-4 Trout and Bird that I picked up in '78 or '79, so the Randall itch was already scratched for me.

Maybe not a "Holy Grail" knife, but certainly one of my favorites is this pearl screw on handles by Miller Bros. It has beautiful pearl and does not appear to be used. I bought it about thirty years ago from Joe Lauderdale (Widow Creek Knives).
