RBH Customs
Does anyone know anything about Richard B Henn and his RBH Custom knives? They look good to me in the pictures, but of course in hand is sometimes a different story.

Re: RBH Customs
If you bought it, that was a great price. I doubt you could make one like that for that.
I checked his web site and he admits he gets a lot of inspiration from Randall knives.
His logo is close to Randall's as well.
They look well made in the pics. Proof would be "in hand".

No, I didn't buy it. I was tempted but circumstances right now held me back. It looks in the pictures, like a well built sturdy knife. I sure would like to handle one.

Though I'm not a big fan of wood handles, I'm particularly attracted to that #25. I think it's the grind on the blade that turns me on. I'm looking forward to your post after they arrive.

same here Jerry. I like how the point is on (or very near) the centerline, and not swept upward. Great grind!

I already have a quote on 3 of the Randall style in polished stacked leather, only if these check out OK.

Re: RBH Customs
Well guys, here they are. I am very very satisfied for the price that I paid. I paid less for these knives than I would a new Case Bowie.
Positives:
1) The fit and finish is better than any factory knife Ive seen.
2) Balanced great. Feels good in your hand. When you hold it its like you have to cut something with it (even though I didnt)
3) Price. I got less than $100 each in these knives.
4) The sharpest knife I have ever held in my hand.
5) Sheath is great with RBH buttons.
Negatives:
1) The quality is great but I would say it is a notch below Randall.
2) I would like to see more stampings beside just the maker stamp on the blade. I would love for the knife to have a pattern number and USA stamped somewhere on the knife
3) Would love it in stag.
Overall I would reccomend this knife to anyone and will be trying to purchase more in the future.

Re: RBH Customs
I recently purchased a sheath for one of my fixed blades that is very similar to one of those and it cost me $50 plus shipping. If you figure that in, the knife is an even better buy.

Re: RBH Customs
Would be nice if they were made in the good old U.S.A. like
the seller says they are but from what I read they are not. They come
from across the waters like so many do.
I wish people would just be honest, but they will do anything for a
dollar

Re: RBH Customs
When I first saw the knives on eBay, I did a little research and saw a similar reference to what you're saying. Made offshore. But, if I recall, there was no hard evidence other than someones opinion so a little more research made me decide he makes them here in the USA.
RBH Custom Knives - About The Knife Maker
I honestly don't know. I sent him an email and invited him to come by AAPK and clear up that issue for us.

Re: RBH Customs
I went through several pages of feedback results and several people say that some of the knives were shipped to them directly from Pakistan.
BUYER BEWARE. They are a slick built and sharp knife but with no USA on them I would be cautious.

Re: RBH Customs
Well shucky darn. I guess it's better to have your hopes dashed before you shell out the cash. I gotta say though, they are the best looking Pakistan knife I've ever seen and I would have argued a fence post and set it myself that they were not from that part of the world. Thanks for being the guinea pig Mike. Hate to see that happen to ya.

Re: RBH Customs
Still looking at that Blackjack 125, Blue? I have it's predecessor, the Trail Guide. Those puppies are going for way more than I paid for it originally but they are a very nice knife. I don't care what anyone says, I think the quality of the Effingham Blackjacks are equal to Randall.rangerbluedog wrote:Ima thinkin I might fall back to the old Blackjack ...
