Big Horns

although properly this probably should be in the gec section, i thought many members would be interested in this one of the more unusual patterns. labeled the big horn moose it sports 2 big clip blades & to my knowledge not many variations were made. hoping the gang might show some others. HiPower--orange crush--appalosa bone-----stag---& eggs & hot sauce

Wow, I like that variation of the cigar pattern. I have a different moose variation below. I like how diverse GEC has been with this pattern. Below in the group pic I have 2 3 blade stockman, one moose, a harness jack and a muskrat. I also have a Furtaker trapper that is on the same frame. It is in my EDC rotation.

thanks for the info on the midnight blue big horn. i thought personally the midnight blue was one of the worst handle materials gec ever did but glad to know the model was produced. in my collection some patterns are all about the handles instead of blades offered.--HiPower

Not sure. I think I bought it new last year. The number on the knife 542208. Does that mean 2008?

The tang number is for 2008,just can't find anything on the knife""with slanted bolsters"' ??? they made them in 2010___where did you find the info,saying that only 15 pcs. were made___just trying to learn something ??????,Thanks
I have this other one,from 2009,that has the spear & clip blade, but straight bolsters______serial #25 of 50

the tang numbers on the blade usually mean the last 2 numbers indicate the year. if knife reads 12309 the pattern was probably made in 2009. great eastern has production totals for each pattern listed on their main site. i'm not sure but some small productions like less than 4 or 5 may not be listed.--HiPower

Oh yeh !!!!!! That would explain,the slanted bolsters***** GEC,is known,for their famous ""SHORT RUNS"" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats,on a great lookin' knife -A gift from the wife,and( 1 of 15 ) just makes it that much more "'Special""
