My latest Schrade

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Trail, my 34OTSS was made for the 25 Anniversary of the Schrade Stockman, in 1984.
It looks perfect in every way to me, I cannot find a reason why it was not finished.
I have also posted one of my mint 34OTSS, for those that may not have seen a 34OTSS.

268bull, a German company; WURTH makes a "Highly effective rust loosener with excellent creeping ability", they call it "Rost off" " it runns up hill looking for rust. Last week, I also found a 34OT-NY "Schrade Give-a-way". All the Schrade Giver-a -ways have become a very collectable item.

Ken, nice ones! Those were referred to as the "80" pattern. The blue one is actually an unfinished cigar box knife that was meant to be put out for Schrade's 100th anniversary. Just missing the shield and blade etch. The handles are blue rope jigged bone.

Nice collection of 80's Ken. Your Keen Kutter 80T is probably a mid 1970's version, given the NY in the stamp. There were a few early (1973-74) NY stamped examples with a matchstrike nail nick and the 80T stamped on the back side, similar to a Schrade Walden.

Hi all,

I posted this knife the other day in mail call, but thought I should add it here. It is a 752 that took me a goodly amount of effort to land, but was well worth the frustration involved. Enjoy!

Russell

Nice ones thawk, I have not seen an 8OT like the knife on the left side - NY USA Matchstrike.
This is some more of my 4" knives, I also have some 8OTY. I think my John Primbel 935s were a good find, I have 4 of them.
The BUCK 301 was made by Schrade and the UH886 was made by Camillus.

The seller sold it as a prototype (note #0000 on bolsters).
Maybe it was...

I've taken a liking for the small, late model Schrades like this 104OT that I just picked up for $10 shipped off ebay. The 104 and 108 patterns seem to be built a little huskier than the corresponding Camillus or Bokers. For small knives, they are real solid and usable. Parenthetically, they're a heck of a lot nicer than a cheap foreign knockoff, for the same price or less.

Over the years I have had some of Schrade's 858 Old Timers. All had "Schrade+" stamped on the blade.
This is my latest 858OT; however, this one is stamped "Schrade" only.
I would like any information on my latest Schrade... Ken ::hmm::

They introduced the pattern in 1978 with the carbon steel blades, with and without a sheath. Not sure when they added or switched to the stainless steel blades. The 1982 catalog shows stainless. They stopped making them in 1986.

Sure like the looks of those 858s, KG
Great job on the info relay TH.

Finally found a plain edged SW-7 (NIB).
Was beginning to think they never
actually made any.

Here's one I could use some background info.
Blade guard label says 'Schrade 167OCS' over
'SC167OCS'. Barcode below that is 10336 92341.
Stagbone handles, tang Schrade+ over U.S.A. LTD.
Duckhead on top of sheath.
Wondering when & how many made, MSRP, etc.

Hi woseyjales, I have eight Schrade SW-7SN knives (only six in boxes - with Sheaths)
For quite some time, I was thinking they did not come in a box.
Now you show us, not only coming in a box - they also came with a plain edge.
In the past year, Australian Custom's have been stop these type of knives coming into Australia. Ken
