Wullie, good guess on the Winchester, but it's a model 06.
It's a little bit older than the 62, it has a nice peep site and it shoots real well.

I thought after I posted that and looked at the forend again that it was wrong for a 62A. LOL

Then I thought maybe an 1890, but the 06 never crossed my mind. I'm slippin I guess.

I've got a 62A that my dad bought in the thirties. No peep sight but it is a tack driver IF you can see the sights which is getting to be a problem for me with tri-focal glasses. Peep sights work good for older eyes though. My Garand is suitably equipped.

edit; looks like yours was made in 1926.

It also reminds me I need a new box
of bandaids.

Here's a Scallion that turned out well imho
with this combo of curves, blue & gray,
and the angle of the dangle.

Hey guys, I need some help with a camera.
I found a Minolta Dimage Z1 today at an estate sale.
I have got it working and have a SD card for it.

Is anyone familiar with this camera and all the settings on it?
I am a novice when it comes to photography, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just play with it. I googled it an came up with

DiMAGE Z1 Features:

I did not see any mention of a macro setting.

I'd run it on the "Auto" setting and see what it will do.

AA batteries may be the biggest issue cost wise. There may be a rechargeable pack out there somewhere that will help to reduce that bite out of your pocket.
Take the biggest pictures it will take and then crop the pic to keep the detail without the huge size.

Here is an un-retouched pic from the new camera. All I did was crop it.
I was impressed that I could get that tiny Moseley tang big enough to read easily and still be so clear. For scale, the Moseley tuxedo is only 2" closed.
