I've got a congress with the tang stamped Hermitage Cutlery CO. Goins says this mark was used by Gray and Dudley hardware co., Nashville 1895-1938 with the mark being transferred to the Keith Simmons hardware in 1925. Any ideas who actually made it?Thanks , Slim.

...How long is it and how's the blade snap? The bone looks like the handles on an old Electric Cutlery I had. Maybe New York Knife Co? I dunno.

Thanks CCBILL. It's 3 3/4 inches and the snap is strong enough to wake the baby! I also thought the jigging looked like New York Knife. I have a New York Knife wharncliffe pen that looks similar. Slim.

That is AWESOME, the town of Hermitage PA is not far from Beaver Falls PA. Not that I think it is related in any way. BUT I know that the Nashville firm did have knives made in Tidioute as well as Bradford. The jigging doesn't appear to be of the same style as those companies, but you can never be sure. I love this kind of story, that is a beautiful knife.

Thanks PAKNIVES . I've been meaning to get your book. I love reading about knives almost as much as collecting. I'd love to take that trip to the magic circle one day. I wasn't aware there was a Hermitage Pa. That's why I love this forum. There's so many people with so much knowledge. Slim.
