Valley Forge Cutlery pliers knife

Hi all ; Just was wondering if this knife is right,
Levine's guide shows it as having a secondary blade
that is a screwdriver, wire stripper. This 1 has a small
clip blade as the secondary blade.

FRONT HANDLE IS GREAT, BACK HANDLE HAS SOME REPAIR

The knife is legit all the way. Valley Forge made two versions of this knife,one had the screwdriver blade and the other had the regular pen blade. They also made one with a shield on both handles.
They also made the knives on Contract for Case. If you have Sargents 7th edition you can see both versions on page 108. The Case versions run quite a bit higher than the Valley Forge.Include are tow pictures of the one I have. The first one is a WS.R.Case and sons and the 2nd is a Valley Forge.

Hello jljr 1944 I prefer the first posted picture, as it is a
true radio knife, not sure this is the 1 you offered, maybe
we can work something out!? As to both it would be more
than my back pocket could stand at the present time, LOL

The 1st picture is a W.R. Case and sons knife but it was made for them by Valley Forge and is not for sale.
Sargent shows both versions of this knife on page 108 in his 7th edition. One version has the standard pen blade and the other has the screwdriver pen blade.
The 2nd picture shows a Valley Forge knife like the one on Ebay. I would be willing to sell this knife if anyone is interested.
The knife is uncleaned with full blades and good snap. Handles are perfect with no cracks or chips.

Hi jljr so what you are saying is that you would be willing to
sell a radio knife by valley forge for 300$, would some trades be excepted?
1 a 6111 1/2 L NM 10 bot 1970 10th dot a little hard to see but there
2 a 62131 also NM
3 a 6232 also NM
4 a 53047 also NM with slight line from display on shield side
All are 10 dot 1970, All are good knives no cracks ect. I don't
know if you are into case knives, but the 1 you are not selling
is a Case.
Just a thought........

I have a few case New Grind Knives but I am not really into Case knives. I like unusual stuff regardless of the maker and I really like Cattaraugus wrench knives. I own 8 of the Cattaraugus wrench knives.
I sold the Case pliers knife about 4 years ago to a friend of mine and I had a bad case of sellers remorse after selling it. He passed away this past year and I bought the knife back. They say everything is for sale but it would take quite a bit to get this particular knife. Sargent books it for 1500.00 in his latest book. I showed it to Tony Foster last December at the Severville show in Tenn and Tony said it was the nicest example of that pattern that he had seen. I have had several dealers offer me 1000.00 for it but I honestly don't want to sell it. It has sentimental value as well as dollar value plus it is a knife that is extremely rare to find in excellent condition.

The Valley Forge knife is more common. I saw 3 of them at the oregon show this year and the dealers had them priced in the 375 to 450 range. I don't know what their bottom line would have been but none of them were as nice as the one I have.

I couldn't get a good picture of the tang stamp but the stamps are as follows.
Front tang of main blade is stamped Valley Forge(curved) over cutlery co. over Newark N.J.
Back tang is stamped with VF in a circle. The pliers are stamped pat apl'd for.
The knife has not been cleaned but it would clean up really nice if you wanted to do that. I tend to like them uncleaned.

I happen to have one of these, I actually am into fixed blades, but I got this one in a "junk box" at an auction..its a valley forge with1 large blade, pliers, and 1shorter, screwdriver tip blade..is in fairly good condition for its age.id love to work a trade/sale to someone who really appreciates what it is
