Spear or Drop Point Single Blade

I'm looking for a single blade knife with either a spear or drop point blade. No smaller than 3 3/8" and up to 4" closed for under $100.00 might be able to go as high as $125.00. What pattern and maker should I be looking for?

Lots of options out there, are you partial to one particular maker that you already collect? Looking for certain handle material or color? New or vintage, country of origin picky? You should be able to find a decent knife in that price range for almost any folding single in that size, just a matter of getting the shape of blade you want and the other options I mentioned above.

Any USA or Germany maker will do. The handles I want something other than bone maybe horn or a wood and I'm not set on a certain color. It can be new or vintage as I'm going to EDC it.

Ever think about a knife with multiple single blade combinations? If so, here's a Case Changer in amber bone. For around $100 you can get a drop point, clip, gut hook and saw blade plus a nice leather belt sheath that houses the knife and all blades. At 5" it's a little on the large side but could still be carried in your pocket. It's a lockback too. The blades are pretty easy to swap out.

I suggest you go to one of the knife sellers sites like the link Big Monk posted to TSA Knives or maybe Collector knives http://www.collectorknives.net/queen-knives.html or the stores right here on AAPK and just browse until something that fits your pocketbook tickles your fancy.

If that changer is too big, Case also makes a -225 pattern knife with a drop point. But it's only 3" closed.

I just picked up a Schatt & Morgan Heritage single blade in rosewood and have been carrying it for a couple of days. It's a great knife with traditional lines and reasonably priced. Take a look, it might fit the bill.

Thought I had all your parameters covered 'til
you threw in the USA/DE in the second post.
Opinel No.8 Garden knife has spear point and
birchwood handle. Just under 4" closed.
Lighweight toter. Even has the lock ring.
Only costs about $15, be worth a shot.
Worth that much just to have it around in case
you need to spike somebody's airport luggage.

Boker (Germany) makes a nice thin profile lockback called the "Fellow" that might work for you. It is just slightly larger than the 4 inch limit at 4 1/4 but it's slim profile makes it pretty pocket friendly. It is a quality made knife and is available in several handle options.

Found a recently available German made Carl Wusthof lockback drop point with Sure-Grip handles at SMKW. 440HC, titanium coated, leather sheath, 4 " closed for $70. I might need to pick one of these up. Looks like a nice EDC.

Late 70s 21051LSSP is 3 5/8" OALc
with 2 5/16" drop point (minus tang).
If you squint right looks just like buffalo.

Trail, Just picked up one in ebony with the spear blade. You were right it fit the bill exactly. I'm also going to pick up a GEC #73 with spear blade as soon as I sell off some of my tactical folders. Once again thanks everyone for the input.

Well, Jerry.

Those are nice and have pen blades but the masters don't have the long nail nick or that pretty swedge that gives that one knife that "old" look.
