Whole bunch of Kastor/Camillus and related family stamps: These are from the Knife World site.

That's an amazing list of brands and stampings all under that one umbrealla.

Thanks for posting that. I'm going to print that list off and save it in my homemade knife book.

I couldn't get it to work at first, but I up-dated my Adobe Reader and it works fine. It is pretty amazing all the brands that Kastor had their hands in.

Yes, the link worked fine for me too. It links to a pdf so you may need a pdf viewer add-in for your browser or you can download it and view it with Adobe Reader.

I've gone through the list kind of quickly and found stamps that I have on old knives only to find that they were manufactured in the Kastor plant. I think that Goins talks about Kastor's plant in Germany being the Germania plant. So I guess these were all made there. Of course, you have to understand that this is someone's research and may be good or may be bad info

I heard that W.H. Morley was made in Germany and Austria (Bohemia) so that would argue against all German Kastors coming out of the Germania plant. It is my gut feeling that Kastor contracted with many German and East European companies to make knives under his brands. I look at him as the king of importers, traveling Europe and taking any opportunity to buy advantageously for the U.S. market. Something tells me his life would make a fascinating biography.

That's a pretty good theory and I'll bet you're right. The one really good thing that Kastor did was start up the Camillus plant, great knife
