Corelon vs. Celluloid

Hoping to get some conversation started on corelon and celluloid handled knives. I have provided an example of each below; just wondering about the differences between the two. I have witnessed the destruction associated with celluloid handles out-gassing and wonder if corelon is subject to the same issues?

I have a few corelon handled knives; should I be treating them the same as my cells? As always, your contribution/opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Redrider, I guess this knife is corelon. I never knew it could be like celluloid.
Never gave it any thought.

Corelon is a much more stable material than celluloid.....and I would assume that is the reason most knife manufactures have switched.
Some are using casein....which is a milk bi product.....I'm wondering how that will hold up in the long run?

Never even knew this stuff existed. What knife companies are using it, johnnie?

I'm sure other Companies are using it....but this is the only one that I own and it is a Queen. ...When I bought this knife I knew it had Casein scales ..but had no idea what the material actually was ....after finding out , I thought how ironic that the first kmife was a Cattleman's pattern. ..
Know that I know...its one of my favorites.

I haven't heard of any cases of corelon or acrylic going bad.....I personally think your ok.
BTW....micarta is another material that I think is simply amazing in durability and pliability.
