GEC used the Moss Green jigged handles once before on the Schrade Fire & Ice Tapper Line.....specifically it was used on the smaller #73 frame as well........now a days all you can find is the Red Pick and Brown Pick Bone handles on the smaller frame.

Look what just showed up all covered with droplets of oil fresh from Titusville.

Sorry about the lousy photos, I think I might have to subcontract photography work to Johnny Twoshoes or Earl. ::shrug::

Hey Mike ... that pair of 72s have the best matched handles I've seen in the Elk.

Can you discern any difference in the overall weight comparing the Elk to the bone handled 72s? I've been torn between the Ruby Red and the Elk Warnie ... and can only spring for one. These fellas are going so fast that my decision might have to be based on what is still available ::dang::

Hatback, I have a bone scaled #72 and an Elk scaled #72, the Elk (May) be heavier, but the weight difference is so miniscule that it wouldn't be a big deal. Now, the Bone is definitely trimmer, and slimmer than the Elk. I think with the Elk too, it varies from knife to knife in a major way. I hope you make the right decision, either way I'm sure you won't be disappointed in your knife. One cool thing about the Elk, it ages nice in your pocket after a few years of use. ::tu::

Here are the ones I have.

Viking, you give me a call sometime and we'll get those pics done.
Earl takes awesome pics too, but I wouldn't trust him around those GECs, ::paranoid:: if you know what I mean.

P.S.
I have full trust in Earl, I was just joking. I know some things have been going on around here, and I don't know who to trust. ::paranoid:: ::tear::
But you can trust Earl. ::tu::

Thank you for the compliments fellow GEC fans. I love these knives and I sympathize with you hatback. It's tough to decide. I really like GEC jigged bone, it's beautiful, but I couldn't pass up these elk twins. :D

Let us decide what you choose? I look forward to see a photo.

Caleb, you have a drop dead gorgeous pair of knives there! Congratulations.

Here are a couple more I got in the mail recently. When I ordered the red wine 72, I also ordered a ruby red Tidioute 'cause I sent my last one away for new mammoth ivory slabs, then wished I had sacrificed another knife!
