Barry, that banana slug kind of reminds me of the rotten banana scales GEC uses once in awhile.
What mine used to look like (pic from the GEC site). It is much more scratched and "broken in" now that it has been a user for over a year.

Both very impressive knives, Earl.
Are they both by Sims?

Re: Knife Size.... Whaddya Like?
You guy's are killing me...large single blade's have always been my favorite pattern, saddlehorns, toothpicks, folding hunters...I can't seem to get enough of them...and Earl all I can say is I want one of each....
One I forgot about is the #12...while not a heavy duty knive it is pocket friendly and will handle alot of cutting chore's and with a
4" handle it is comfortable to use...with that said I would like to see GEC offer a larger size toothpick.
If I lived back in the day, I'd be a packin one of these....

Yes, those are VERY nice knives, Earl. Unfortunately they belong to WB.
Damn fine knives, Bob. And yes, I can definitely see a Northfield version of that Saddlehorn in genuine stag in my mind's eye!!! It would be a hot seller, no doubt! I hope they're listening!

I'm hoping to score on a #72 in 440-c, so maybe that will be the perfect size.

I like to have a 4" pocket clip of some sort. Right now it's a V&D D/A auto with the AUS 10 steel blade. Plus I always have a scout knife attached to my keys as a FOB. The current pick is a Remington Bandit. It's not the most well known knife but it is very well U.S.A. made with six thick tools all 420 and black composite scales.

I hear ya!
I'd love to see a #36 with a wharncliffe blade and buffalo, ram's horn and/or mammoth handles.

Well, I got tired of waitin' on the 72's to come out, and I damn sure wasn't gonna buy any sissified knife,so I bought a couple MAN SIZED KNIVES! I haven't had one of the Ben Hogans in hand yet, but I figured I'd better buy just one!

The 11 versions of the lady's knife are finished. The 72s started up on Friday.
Nice new knives you got there!

I have a Queen CBS Toothpick #20 CARVED Bone STAG 2005 5 ¼”.paulsvintage wrote:very nice Earl ! i'm all for a larger knife . like a 5 inch tooth pick
I also have some GEC 128109SAB Toothpick Burnt Stag 1095 CS #37 4".
I love looking at and playing with the Queen 5"ER but, I like the GEC more for a user.
As far as whats best in best patterns I can not say. there is a reason for many different patterns. So I just buy what makes me feel good at the time I am looking....
