help...Edge knife?

Post by brianj53 »

Morning Guys,

Found these knives at an auction and cannot find any info on the knife pictures on the top.

After removing some of the rust/patina all I can make out is the tang stamp "EDGE", any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Respectfully

Brian

Brian.....

Gutmann Cutlery co. of N.Y. imported Edge knives from Germany and Japan. 1947 -to ??? I have a few Edge marked knives.
Although they are not highly collectible, they are great users. Google Gutmann and you may learn a little more. Hope this helps.

::welcome:: to AAPK.

The knife on the left looks like a Queen to me.

I have not seen Edge brand use winterbottom bone before.

That Case has very nice stag handles ::tu::

MB, I was wondering the same thing about the handle. After magnifying the pic.do you think its been re-handled?
Most of them that i have seen are either stag or imitation stag.

Tim,

The whole knife looks original to me.

That style Aluminum bolster was only used by Queen, as far as I know.

I would bet a Dollar it is made by Queen ::nod::
